Moisture Analysis Balances
Moisture analysis is the determination of liquid content as a percentage of total mass. Moisture analysis balances determine this by heating the sample and measuring the difference between the pre and post evaporated masses. The purpose is to determine the amount of moisture in a material.
Moisture analyzers provide a quick and easy method of doing this, replacing the more complex and labor intensive process of heating the item in an oven. A sample is weighed, heated, then cooled in a dry atmosphere and weighed again. The dry weight versus the wet weight gives an indication of what percentage of the sample was water. Moisture balances are commonly used within the pharmaceutical, agriculture, food processing, textiles, chemicals, fertilizer, paper, and construction industries.
At Summit Measurement we are proud to offer a range of high quality moisture balances which vary in function and price from simple economical choices to superior high end models.
