Why we make changes, and our promise to continue...
Actively avoiding the temptation to rest on one's laurels.

If you are a return visitor to this website, you might notice some serious change to the navigation, you might notice a change to the "look and feel" of the website, and you may even notice new categories of products available from SummitMeasurement.net - All of which we are very proud of, but all of which some would argue are unnecessary... This is an attempt to explain why we do things like this, and it is a promise to our customer that we will continue to change:

"If a customer can't find the product on our website the way it is, that is their problem..."
"Our website is fine, and has been fine, and will be fine..."
"If a customer has questions, they will just call us..."
"At least we do a better job at X than that other company..."

Statements like these are said by more GM's than would readily admit. The customer may 'always be right', but behind closed doors it is usually the customer who gets blamed for things. Businesses and business managers, if not careful can fall victim to this way of thinking.

Sales are down, traffic is down, CPC is up, and ROI is nobody-has-a-clue... and somehow it is the customer's fault for not seeing what makes this business special. The cartoon shown above is a perfect illustration of the mindset we are trying to avoid here. We are always in a state of change, and will spend the money and time needed for that to be true. We are not in business to rest on our laurels. The internet does not allow that. For this reason, the internet is a terrifying place for business.

I don't mean terrifying in the sense of pure fear, but more in the sense of one being in overwhelming awe. The internet is so big, and the market is so big, that it sometimes seems impossible to do things well enough for long enough to remain relevant. This awe-inspiring nature of the internet is a concern for businesses of any size, but we can't let it cripple us. Businesses every day get passed by because of the rapid pace of progression and evolution that internet business demands. We believe that it is our duty as a business to strive to serve. The market has changed, and companies no longer deserve to exist. We cannot and will not sit behind a desk and wait for the phone to ring. We welcome the competition the internet provides, and hope that the market rewards the deserving. We promise that we will work hard, analyze the data we have, and continue to invest in the experience and offering we provide. If we make a mistake, we will do what we can to remedy that mistake. If we hit a winning streak, we will not rest. It is our belief that this is the new expectation of business, and we believe it will better serve the customer.

If you have any questions about the changes we have made, feel free to email us directly. We make choices about this website based on what we feel is best for the customer, because without customers, we will not exist.
